Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven at the Hellenic Centre

On Monday 16 November at 7.15pm, the Hellenic Centre is presenting a piano recital by the distinguished pianist Panayiotis Gogos at its Great Hall. The program, built around Frederic Chopin's 24 Preludes,also includes the highly dramatic Fantasie by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Moonlight Sonata, the most renown of romantic compositions from Ludwig van Beethoven's 32 sonatas. The audience will have the opportunity to appreciate these profoundly emotional works inspired by their famous composers’ private lives.

In 2005, the Greek Academy of Art & Literature in Athens awarded Panayiotis Gogos the prize as “Best Young Soloist” Panayiotis Gogos is scheduled to perform his debut recital at the famous Konzerthaus Vienna in December 2009. He will also take part in concerts in Rome, Berlin ,Vienna and Athens within next year and he has also been chosen to participate in the ccommemoration for the “Year Chopin 2010,” 200 years from the famous composer’s day of Birth, at the prestigious Polish Society Salon Chopin Paris. His artistry is considered as a continuance to the great pianistic tradition of Alfred Cortot and Edwin Fischer.
